"Darkness was surrounding me and overwhelming me, and I went out in to the night.
At first I didn't know where I was going, I just knew I had to get out of my flat. But then my heart led me to a familiar light - a light of hope shining in the deep darkness. The light was glowing from the Community Front Room, which has become to me like a star in the darkest sky. With welcoming smiles (and much-needed mugs of tea!)I was given, yet again, the gifts of unconditional acceptance, support and seemingly never-ending patience from the amazing team who work there. |
I don't know what I would do without Community Front Room now; it is an oasis of calm, a beacon of hope, and no matter how you are feeling, you will be welcome here.
Sometimes, just having a cup of tea with someone is all you need - a chat with people who has 'been there'; or just space to sit quietly, knowing you are safe.
But it's there for the times of crisis too. Hands reach out to hold you when you feel as if you are falling.
Hope, acceptance, safety, and empathy sum up the Community Front Room....
Please don't hesitate to come; it is there for YOU too."
