BRIDPORT BOUNCES BACK RAISES MONEY FOR HARMONY

30/9/2020

We were delighted to hear that the Burrough Harmony Centre was to benefit from the money raised at the recent Bridport Bounces Back event. The socially distanced music event, organised jointly by Bridport Folk Festival and Bridport Town Council, gave Bridport residents a chance to  listen to local bands and enjoy the music in a safe controlled environment.
Harmony is also starting to ‘Bounce Back’. The Drop In group has been meeting in the Community Orchard when weather permits and members have been very productive in the Harmony allotment harvesting lots of veg and fruit. Many thanks to our volunteer Mary for all her hard work to resurrect the allotment.
We are also working hard at the Assembly Rooms to make the changes needed to allow us to open up some of our face to face services again.
In the meantime, we are continuing to offering telephone and video support. Harmony Drop in support is available Monday 10am-4pm and Wednesday & Friday, tel no 07597 379290. The Community Front Room crisis support offers support by video and telephone calls from 3.15pm - 10.45pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, tel no. 07385 290804

Wild Swimming supporting Harmony

15/9/2020

Thanks Simon (and The Cornish bakery) for supporting Harmony drop in. It is so appreciated.
Swimming is such good exercise and so good for your well-being, especially when shared with others.

From Simon Jordon...

"Since lockdown started to ease there have been a little community swimming at the bay each morning.
Ages from 35-76.
I decided to capture them in a book and also document why each one of them swim.
I decided that all profits should go to Harmony drop in the mental health charity here in Bridport.
It’s been a total joy to create and raise money for such a needed cause and to have a record of this moment in time during such a weird year.
Each book is £10 and all of that £10 now goes directly to the charity.
Cornish Bakery at West Bay also kindly sponsored some of the print cost."
